Men’s Fashion Myths & Mistakes
There’s a lot of Misperception & Myths when it comes to Men’s Styles and Trends…here is my top 6 Myths and Mistakes for Men’s Fashion!
Matching Belt & Shoes
This is the oldest rule in men’s styling and it holds some truth. The rule that you should match your Belt & Shoes is true, however it is more a guideline as a pose to a RULE!
Never Mixing Patterns, Prints & Textures
This old myth holds no ground any more, back in the 90’s we were all match-match but todays trends is all about mixing ant matching Patterns, Prints & Textures into a unique look that suits your personality.
My TOP TIP is to stick to a maximum of 3 Patterns, Prints or Textures per look!
Retro means Old
Retro does NOT mean old, Retro is in fact brand new… Retro fashion is simply fashion that lends inspiration for old styles and trends…so DON’T grab your old Power Ranger T’s from a box and wear them as “RETRO” fashion.
Comfort over Style
Many guys belief that being fashion forward means being uncomfortable. This is not true at all, so please burn those Crocs and get your self some loafers instead!
Denim is meant for Jeans
We all remember the dreaded head to toe Denim looks of the 90’s, don’t worry those aren’t making a comeback any time soon. However Denim is not just for Jeans, wearing a Denim shirt is a really great way to build on that edgy rocker look…
My TOP TIP is to chose a Denim Shirt that is distressed and in a different colour group than the Jeans you will be wearing with them AND make sure to break up the Denim with some accessories or a great leather jacket!
Expensive is Better
Buying designer names does not make you trendy, if you don’t know how to put together the right look no amount of money spend on labels will make you look good. Mixing and Matching Designer Gear with Bargain Buys is also a great way to ensure a unique look.
Tune in to MFM 92.6 next week @ 11:30am for the next Trendoid Tuesday segment!
