Probably the most iconic Chanel piece is their jacket. Every designer's dream is to create something so fabulous so it can become a classic and must have like the Birkin bag or Burberry trench coat. After creating sth iconic it must become timeless. When Coco Chanel in 1971 died, her classic tweed jacket could have died too but thanks to the amazing Karl Lagerfeld we saw the development of that jacket - from tweed and boring to sparkiling and sexy. I love to see a modern take on that type of jacket so I wouldn't recommend wearing Chanel from head to toe. I always wear a mixture of designers so I wouldn't look boring.
Fashionistas, do we like it or not?
