17-year-old teen leads his accomplices to rob hotel for iPhone in Quanzhou

The above photo shows that 17-year-old Chen posed with a V sign on packs of cash he got illegally, and snapped the moment by himself with an iPhone device he purchased with the ill-gotten money for his girlfriend.17-year-old Chen, whose dream was to be a policeman in future (like many other young kids educated in China), has fairly sophisticated means of committing crimes. On Dec. 18, 2011, Chen led four others to commit a robbery in a hotel in Quanzhou, Fujian. They controlled the security guard of the hotel and robbed away a safe that contained 330,000 rmb cash and an expensive Rolex watch.
On Dec. 28, Chen and his accomplices were arrested, the oldest one among whom was only 24 years old. The local police said they were surprised by their sophisticated methods in the robbery when announcing the case to the public. Chen and his accomplices had their insider inside, and wore the stocking masks and left no finger prints when committing the robbery.Chen, from a poor family in a town in Quanzhou City, did not continue his study after junior high school. He had no job after leaving the school for the city, and messed around every day with some of his friends who came from the same town and had the similar background with him. The materialistic city and its night life soon made them lost themselves. And a desire to buy an iPhone finally drove Chen to plan a crime for easy cash. They then drew a friend working as a security guard in a hotel in the gang, and robbed away a safe from this hotel after over-a-month observation. It was learned too the gang fled to Xiamen the next day after the robbery, and spent almost 100,000 yuan at a night club there just one night.
Not much left from their ill-gotten goods with a worth of 400,000 rmb.
